About Tabatha James
Hi, I'm Tabatha!
I'm a wife, mom, an Atlanta vegan blogger, activist, abillion ambassador, vegan children's book author, and the founder of The Sensible Vegan. I received my holistic nutrition certification from AFPA. I am also a NASM certified weight loss specialist. I became vegan overnight in 2016 after watching Vegucated and never looked back!
On my website you'll discover news, product reviews, and hundreds of vegan recipes that only require 10 ingredients or less. You can see me on Mother's Against Dairy, Black Vegans Rock, One Minute Vegan, Health Magazine, Woman's World Magazine, and PETA.
writing is one of my favorite hobbies, and I absolutely love being a multicultural children's book author. My first children's book is entitled I Love You Everyday. My second published book and first vegan children's book is available now on Amazon.
You can reach me at thesensiblevegan@gmail.com and on social media @thesensiblevegan.
As the "sensible vegan" my mission is to educate and inspire others to explore a plant based diet and advocate to keep all animals free from harm. Being a black vegan influencer is also an honor because I have helped so many people with my story.
Genesis 1:29 English Standard Version (ESV) And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food.
How It All Began:
My vegan journey has been pretty amazing! Before becoming a vegan blogger I was fit and active and even achieved substantial weight loss but struggled with digestive issues. I tried many different over the counter medicines and various remedies to try to alleviate the problem.
After becoming vegan the problems disappeared within two months and never came back. I started researching and immersed myself in books, documentaries, and started "veganizing" some of my old meals and creating new ones that are easy-to-make vegan recipes and absolutely delicious.
When I am out shopping and in the vegan meat or cheese section, I am often asked for advice about certain products. It gives me great joy to be able to discuss my favorite products, recipes, nutrition information, and it happens all them time.

Friends, Not Food:
There are many great health benefits of being vegan, but they are not the reason I became vegan. After witnessing footage of animal cruelty depicted in a vegan documentary I was mortified.
I never even took the time to think about an animal having to die to make it to my plate. I never heard about veganism growing up. No one in my circle was vegan. My eyes were opened to a whole new way of thinking concerning animals.
Animals want to live, just like us. Today I take confidence in being part of the solution and no longer being part of the problem. If you have any questions, please contact me at thesensiblevegan@gmail.com.
Also, please post your recipes from The Sensible Vegan on social media using #thesensiblevegan.
Thank you! ❤️
